What You’ll Do
- Enforce the Immigration Act and monitor investigations of illegal foreigners.
- Supervise the detection, tracing, arrest, and detention of illegal foreigners.
- Investigate cases involving human trafficking and document fraud.
- Testify in court proceedings and disciplinary enquiries.
- Manage the deportation process for illegal foreigners.
- Conduct inspections and promote compliance with immigration legislation.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on criminal matters.
- Prepare reports and statistics as required.
- Maintain and safeguard departmental vehicles and tools.
- Coach and guide team members on regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, or Criminal Justice at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a law enforcement environment.
- Knowledge of the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, and relevant public service legislation.
- A valid driver’s license (Code C1 or C) and a Public Driver Permit (PDP).
- Willingness to travel, including outside South Africa, and work extended hours.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
