What You’ll Do

• Enforce laws related to immigration, ensuring compliance with the Immigration Act No 13 of 2002.
• Supervise and manage investigations of illegal foreigners, including tracing and apprehending individuals involved in illegal activities.
• Conduct thorough investigations into cases of human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants.
• Collaborate with various law enforcement agencies to address issues of illegal migration and corruption.
• Represent the Department in court proceedings and disciplinary enquiries.
• Oversee the deportation process of illegal foreigners, ensuring it aligns with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to monitor and verify the legal status of foreigners within the country.
• Prepare detailed reports and statistics as required, supporting the Department’s operations and strategy.
• Manage and safeguard assigned vehicles and tools in line with departmental policies.
• Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to immigration enforcement.

What You’ll Need

• A qualification in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, or Criminal Justice at NQF level 6 as recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a law enforcement environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, and relevant legislation.
• Valid driver’s license (Code C1 or C) and Public Driver Permit (PDP).
• Willingness to travel, including outside of South Africa, and to work extended hours as needed.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• A commitment to service delivery, honesty, integrity, and patriotism.
