What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coordinate all phases of construction projects, ensuring they meet specified standards and timelines
  • Create and revise project work plans to accommodate changing needs and requirements
  • Assign resources and individual responsibilities to team members effectively
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring adherence to methodologies and standards
  • Report project progress and financial status to the Chief Construction Project Manager
  • Maintain efficient record management systems and liaise with stakeholders, including service providers and client departments
  • Stay informed about new technologies and project management methodologies through ongoing research

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF level 6 or higher in the Built Environment
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Built Environment
  • Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager
  • A valid driver’s license, unless exempt due to a disability
  • Strong competencies in project management, financial management, and strategic leadership
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF level 6 as recognised by SAQA in Built Environment, 04 years’ experience in Built Environment (04 years and 06 months experience), or Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF level 7 as recognised by SAQA in Built Environment (04 years’ experience in Built Environment), or Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF level 8 as recognised by SAQA in Built Environment, 03 years’ experience in Built Environment.

Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager.

Valid driver’s license, with the exception of applicants with disabilities.

Job Duties

Manage and coordinate all aspects of projects under the supervision of the Chief Construction Project Manager: Guide the project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation in line with project management methodology, Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities, Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope, Effectively apply methodology and enforce project standards to minimize risk on projects.

Project accounting and financial management: Report project progress to Chief Construction Project Manager, Manage project budget and resources.

Office administration: Provide inputs to other professionals with tender administration.

Liaise and interact with service providers, client departments, and management, Maintain the record management system and the architectural library, Utilise allocated resources effectively.

Research and development: Keep up with new technologies and procedures.

Research/literature on new developments on project management methodologies, Liaise with relevant bodies/ councils on project management.

Salary

Grade A: R914 517 per annum Grade B: R1 030 296 per annum Grade C: R1 172 184 per annum (to be structured according to Individual needs), (The department will determine the salary package based on years of experience post professional registration), OSD
