About the Role

The Department of Social Development is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Community Development Supervisor Grade 1 in various locations, including the Waterberg District in Mapela, Sekhukhune District at the Tubatse-Praktiseer One Stop Centre, and Mopani District at the Lebaka One Stop Centre and Dzumeri Office. This position is essential for ensuring that community development projects are effectively managed and implemented, fostering growth and empowerment within local communities. What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee community development structures and projects.
• Facilitate the identification and implementation of integrated community development interventions.
• Collaborate with community members and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
• Supervise community development practitioners, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
• Provide administrative support for community development activities.
• Stay updated on developments in the community development field to enhance service delivery.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification at NQF 6 or an equivalent qualification in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related fields.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in Community Development.
• A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (excluding individuals with disabilities).
• Strong knowledge of community dynamics, behaviour, and legislation.
• Excellent project management and people management skills.
• Proficiency in research, report writing, and computer literacy.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
