The Department of Social Development is seeking passionate individuals for the position of Community Development Practitioner: OSD Grade 1 in various locations across the Nkangala and Gert Sibande Districts, including Marapyane, Bethal, Grootvlei, and Daggakraal. What You’ll Do
- Provide basic counselling services to individuals and communities.
- Identify and implement integrated development interventions in collaboration with community members and stakeholders.
- Liaise with various community development structures to foster partnerships and ensure sustainable development actions.
- Support communities through administrative tasks related to community development activities.
- Stay updated on new developments in the community development field to improve service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
- An appropriate three-year tertiary qualification.
- Knowledge of human behaviour, social systems, and relevant legislation for effective interventions.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and research skills.
- An understanding of the dynamics between people and their environments to promote self-empowerment.
