About the Role
The Provincial Commissioner’s office is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Cleaner in Parktown, Benoni, Crystalpark, Rabie Ridge, Alexandra, Linden, Norwood, Vaal Marina, Ratanda, Ga-Rankuwa, Hercules, Bronkhorstspruit, Krugersdorp, and Bekkersdal. This role is essential to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within our communities, particularly in the premises of the South African Police Service (SAPS). What You’ll Do
- Clean and maintain designated areas within SAPS premises, both inside and outside.
- Dust and polish furniture and floors to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
- Vacuum carpets and mop tile floors regularly.
- Remove refuse and maintain waste management protocols.
- Clean bathrooms and kitchens, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Safely handle cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks around the assigned premises.
- Assist with garden maintenance services as needed.
- Wash and clean state vehicles and kitchenware.
What You’ll Need
- Competency in performing cleaning tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.
- ABET Level 4/Grade 9/Standard 7 certificate (NQF Level 1 recognized by SAQA).
- Basic understanding of cleaning agents and occupational health and safety protocols.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and the public.
- Willingness to work extended hours if required.
