About the Opportunity
Join the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality as a Transport Revenue Intern. This programme is designed to provide practical experience in inventory management, cash management, revenue administration, and banking within the Transport Finance Revenue section. The internship lasts up to 18 months and is located at 75 Helen Joseph Street, Old Mutual Building, Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities
As an intern, you will assist the Revenue Officer with tasks such as accounting for cash sales at Rea Vaya stations, ensuring correct banking of cash, recording bank transactions, preparing accounting information, and supporting financial reporting. You’ll also help manage inventory, resolve audit findings, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements/Qualifications
– Completed Grade 12 at NQF Level 4
– Degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field (NQF Level 6 or 7)
– No previous work experience required
– Must reside within the City of Johannesburg
– Must not have participated in a related internship programme before
