What You’ll Do
- Coordinate all physical security operations within Western Cape Government institutions and facilities.
- Oversee the implementation of access control procedures to ensure risk mitigation.
- Report and investigate security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and manage relationships with outsourced security service providers.
- Perform managerial and supervisory functions to guide security personnel effectively.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree qualification (equivalent or higher).
- PSIRA registration with a minimum Grade B.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in security management.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public service procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with project management abilities.

Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); PSIRA registration minimum Grade B; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.Competencies: Proven knowledge and working experience of the following: Legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions; Information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; Project management; Operational management practices; Policy development, and operational management, monitoring and review processes; Modern systems of governance and administration; Public service procedures, processes and systems; Regional and local political, economic and social affairs impacting on the provincial government of the Western Cape; Constitutional, legal and institutional arrangements governing the South African public sector; Public finance, human resources and discourse management processes; Public Finance Management Act, National and Provincial Treasury Regulations, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements; Functioning of the Province and the activities of sister departments/related functional areas; Policies of the government of the day; Labour Relations legislation and regulations; Control of access to public premises and vehicles Act, Act 53 of 1985; Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993; Understanding of PSIRA; Criminal Procedure Act; Weapons and Ammunition Act; Explosives; Electronic security system; 316 Security officials Act, Act 92 of 1997.
