What You’ll Do

  • Implement and manage the strategic direction of laundry operations.
  • Coordinate daily production, stock levels, storage, and distribution of laundry.
  • Ensure compliance with SANS 10146 and SANS 1044 standards for quality and risk management.
  • Assist in managing operational expenditure and administrative tasks related to the laundry.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a dedicated team of laundry staff.
  • Conduct stocktaking and manage requisitions for equipment and repairs.
  • Oversee health and safety inspections, pest control, and emergency procedures in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
  • Manage the use of vehicles and equipment for laundry services effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate three-year Diploma or Degree in a related field.
  • Relevant experience in supervision or management of laundry operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SANS 10146, SANS 1044, OHSA, PFMA, and Public Service Regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly with Word and Excel.
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a team effectively.
  • Willingness to work shifts, extended hours, or overtime as needed.
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads/equipment.

Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: An appropriate three-year Diploma/Degree.

Experience: Appropriate experience in Supervision or Management of a laundry line.

Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, extended hours, or overtime when required.

Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads/equipment.

Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer Literacy particularly in Word and Excel.

High level of excellence in accurate data capturing and recording.

Excellent human relations abilities and telephone skills.

Thorough knowledge of SANS 10146, SANS 1044, OHSA, PFMA, and Public Service Regulations.

Strong leadership, supervisory, and people management skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving, strategic planning, 293 and organizational capabilities.

Financial, Supply Chain, and HR Management skills.

Ability to work under pressure independently and lead a team safely.

Job Duties

Implementation and control of the strategic management of the Laundry.

Implementation & control of the operational laundry services.

Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production, stock levels, storage, and distribution in line with SANS 10146 and SANS 1044.

Implement and control of quality and risk.

Assist in managing the operational expenditure and administrative prescripts of the Laundry.

Implement the principles of Human Resources.

Effective leadership and people management.

Conduct stocktaking, manage requisitions for equipment/repairs, write off unserviceable stock, and manage GG vehicle usage.

Oversee health and safety inspections, pest control registers, emergency evacuations, key control, and physical security measures in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA 85 of 1993).

Salary

R413 001 per annum
