What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership in managing the department’s budgeting and financial processes.
- Oversee the development and implementation of financial policies, internal controls, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with Government’s regulatory framework and maintain high standards of financial accountability.
- Lead the design and implementation of accounting systems and processes.
- Guide the department in matters of risk and compliance, including audit processes and financial misconduct management.
- Advise senior officials on financial matters and support the preparation of reports for Parliamentary Committees.
- Facilitate audits and engage with stakeholders effectively to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Manage financial and human resources, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to policies.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate and a Bachelor Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing (NQF 8) as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of eight years of proven experience at a Senior Management level in financial management.
- Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant policies and legislation, such as PFMA, GRAP, and Treasury Regulations.
- Strong skills in financial management and strategic planning.
