About the Role
The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Secretariat Support Services to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng. What You’ll Do
- Facilitate logistical arrangements for executive meetings in line with departmental policies.
- Coordinate procurement processes by completing supply chain forms and following up on quotations.
- Manage the setup of boardrooms and ensure they are equipped for meetings.
- Record and document meeting proceedings, ensuring accurate minutes are kept.
- Prepare and circulate meeting packs, including agendas and previous minutes for review.
- Maintain a repository of documents related to executive meetings and decisions.
- Monitor the implementation of decisions taken in meetings and compile reports on progress.
- Provide administrative support for governance structures in accordance with departmental protocols.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology, Business Administration, or Public Administration (NQF Level 6).
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a corporate secretariat environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a good command of business writing for reports and minutes.
- Strong knowledge of government prescripts, including the South African Constitution and Public Service regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, including the willingness to work irregular hours.
- A valid driver’s licence and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.
