What You’ll Do

  • Manage the drafting and review processes of Public Administration legislation.
  • Provide legal advisory services to the Executive Authority and departmental stakeholders.
  • Oversee litigation services and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Perform duties as a Deputy Information Officer to uphold information governance.
  • Manage the operations, human resources, and financial resources of the Chief Directorate.
  • Attend departmental meetings and represent the department in various committees on legal matters.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum qualification of NQF level 7 in Law (LLB) or Bachelor of Procurations (B Proc).
  • Admittance as an attorney or advocate.
  • At least five years of experience at a senior management level.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in a legal services environment with a focus on legislation, litigation, and advisory services.
  • Sound knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and relevant public service legislation.
  • Strong managerial skills in strategic management, human resources, financial management, and stakeholder relations.
  • Competencies in decision-making, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence.
