What You’ll Do

• Oversee the overall operation of the Data Centre, ensuring its efficiency and availability.
• Manage performance, availability, and error rates of servers and resolve issues as they arise.
• Ensure business continuity through effective configuration management and operational oversight.
• Administer security protocols and access controls within the Data Centre environment.
• Drive the implementation of IT governance frameworks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Chief Directorate, managing resources effectively.
• Support the Department’s Digital Transformation Strategy and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Coach and guide staff on compliance and operational best practices.

What You’ll Need

• An undergraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields at NQF 7.
• A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in ICT or Information Services.
• Strong knowledge of public service regulatory frameworks and departmental legislations.
• Proven experience in managing Information Systems Infrastructure and Cyber Security.
• A valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel and work extended hours as required.
• Completion of the Senior Management Services Pre-entry Certificate upon appointment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
