What You’ll Do
- Oversee the management of stores, services, and related payments.
- Lead the implementation of medical, corporate, cash, and supplier payments.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders to facilitate effective operations.
- Provide strategic advice on financial matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement improvements to financial processes and systems based on recommendations.
- Manage central accounts and guide control implementations.
- Ensure adherence to bank management processes within the department.
- Advise on matters related to central accounts and financial statements.
- Develop and oversee the strategy for debt management.
- Monitor salaries, wages, and allowances for departmental personnel.
- Lead the final payment processes and oversee foreign and domestic claims.
- Report on budget management performance and develop corrective action plans.
- Align accounting processes with government regulatory frameworks.
- Provide leadership on risk mitigation strategies related to accounting services.
- Manage human, financial, and physical resources within the Chief Directorate.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting or Management Accounting (NQF 7) recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience at a senior managerial level in a financial environment.
- Completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme prior to appointment.
- Extensive knowledge of government policies and departmental activities.
- Strong planning, organizing, and continuous improvement skills.
- Familiarity with Public Finance legislation and relevant accounting standards.
- Financial management and strategic planning skills.
