What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee the design, development, and review of policies related to inmate management.
• Evaluate and improve inmate management processes, focusing on discipline, reintegration, and investigations.
• Ensure effective security operations and the safe custody of incarcerated individuals.
• Maintain compliance with legislative standards for correctional facilities.
• Develop infrastructure maintenance programs to uphold facility standards.
• Manage performance information, human resources, finances, and assets effectively.

What You’ll Need

• A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, or Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
• At least 8 years of senior managerial experience in a similar environment.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG).
• Security clearance and a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong understanding of public service policies, legislative frameworks, and correctional services.
