What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee the design, development, and review of policies related to inmate management.
- Evaluate and improve inmate management processes, focusing on discipline, reintegration, and investigations.
- Ensure effective security operations and the safe custody of incarcerated individuals.
- Maintain compliance with legislative standards for correctional facilities.
- Develop infrastructure maintenance programs to uphold facility standards.
- Manage performance information, human resources, finances, and assets effectively.
What You’ll Need
- A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, or Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- At least 8 years of senior managerial experience in a similar environment.
- A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG).
- Security clearance and a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Strong understanding of public service policies, legislative frameworks, and correctional services.
