Key Responsibilities

*Graduate Intern: Ecological Technician (Freshwater)*
– Ensure compliance with the National Water Act
– Conduct audits on Water Use Licenses (WULs)
– Assist with WUL applications
– Convert ecological data into structured databases
– Support freshwater monitoring and reporting
– Conduct fieldwork and compile technical reports

*Graduate Intern: GIS Technologist*
– Support GIS data collection and verification
– Assist with real-time mapping during fire management
– Convert raw data into structured GIS databases
– Contribute to conservation and environmental reports
– Assist with mapping and spatial analysis

Requirements/Qualifications
– For Ecological Technician: BSc Honours or MSc in Freshwater Ecology, Aquatic Science, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
– For GIS Technologist: Degree (NQF Level 7 or higher) in Geomatics, Environmental Management, Conservation Science, Biological or Ecological Sciences
– Must be a South African citizen and a young unemployed graduate (within the last 2 years)
– No criminal record
– Valid Code EB08 driver’s license
– Willingness to work in remote field environments
