What You’ll Do

  • Implement and operationalize appointment and salary administration processes.
  • Quality assure and monitor the accuracy of appointments and salary data on the PERSAL system.
  • Ensure compliance with all HR prescripts regarding appointments and salary amendments.
  • Conduct regular audits of service benefits and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Oversee the processing of leave applications and ensure adherence to relevant policies.
  • Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to service benefits.
  • Liaise with other HR components, management, and unions for effective service delivery.
  • Provide management guidance and training to staff within the department.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) and a three-year relevant qualification.
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in HR or public service.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African Schools Act and service benefits processes.
  • Familiarity with public service regulations and labor relations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PERSAL.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
