What You’ll Do
- Implement and operationalize the appointment and salary administration processes.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and legislative requirements for all appointments.
- Quality assure and monitor the approval of appointments in the Personnel and Salary System (PERSAL).
- Manage the transfer of personnel from other government departments.
- Oversee and ensure timely payment of salaries and relevant allowances.
- Quality assure all documentation related to employment contracts and appointments.
- Facilitate the processing of leave applications and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct audits and verifications related to service benefits and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to management in district offices regarding HR matters.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff, fostering a positive work environment.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) and a Three-year relevant qualification.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in HR and service benefits administration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of South African education laws and public service regulations.
- Strong skills in numeracy, literacy, and computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office and PERSAL.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on conflict resolution and decision-making.
