What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and manage library services and programs in collaboration with local municipalities.
- Oversee the acquisition, preservation, and management of archival collections.
- Monitor compliance with library and information legislation and policies.
- Facilitate partnerships with NGOs and national bodies to enhance services.
- Represent the department in forums related to library and archive development.
- Promote library and archive services through outreach and marketing initiatives.
- Prepare operational plans, performance targets, and resource management strategies.
- Mentor and supervise staff, conducting performance reviews and skills development plans.
What You’ll Need
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 06/07) in Information Science, Library Science, Archives and Records Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a library environment at salary level 7/8.
- A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, public regulations, and archival standards.
- Strong skills in communication, project management, leadership, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and various records management systems.
