What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and facilitate resolution of labour relations issues such as grievances and misconduct.
  • Represent the department during disciplinary hearings and ensure fair proceedings.
  • Support and liaise with the 172 department regarding disputes referred to bargaining councils.
  • Implement Labour Relations policies and provide guidance to staff on related matters.
  • Conduct workshops and awareness sessions on labour relations to educate employees.
  • Manage records and statistics in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of labour relations policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the management of financial, human, and physical resources as per relevant legislation.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF 6 qualification in Labour Relations, Labour Law, Labour Relations Management, LLB, or equivalent recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in the Labour Relations field, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • Strong understanding of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • Knowledge of GPSSBC and CCMA procedures, as well as financial management practices.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, integrity, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Competence in computer literacy and report writing, along with policy formulation capabilities.
