What You’ll Do

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments for the department to identify resource requirements.
  • Manage the implementation of the Central Supplier Database and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze market trends and compile detailed reports for departmental approval.
  • Provide training for end users on developing Demand and Procurement Plans.
  • Prepare memos for annual needs submissions from all end users.
  • Oversee demand management performance in alignment with established frameworks.
  • Create and maintain the Demand Management and Procurement Plan for the department.
  • Implement departmental supply chain management policies and legislative frameworks.
  • Participate in Specification Committee meetings to determine specification requirements linked to strategic plans and budgets.
  • Supervise team performance and contribute to budget projections.
  • Compile bid files for procurement projects and report on procurement plan progress monthly and quarterly.
  • Undertake additional tasks as delegated by your supervisor.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric/Grade 12 and an appropriate bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or Financial Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management, including 3 years at a supervisory level.
  • Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • Knowledge of Walker financial management system/BAS and the legislative framework governing supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with Batho Pele Principles and public service regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
