What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and review the procurement needs of the department in line with the Supply Chain Strategy.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform the procurement plan and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with quality requirements and government procurement regulations.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather information for the annual procurement plan.
  • Supervise and compile tender and quotation specifications as necessary.
  • Maintain and manage the supplier database, ensuring quality assurance of all information.
  • Oversee the administration of Bid Specification Committees and prepare procurement plans for approval.
  • Provide guidance and support to subordinate employees in carrying out procurement tasks.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Supply Chain Management at a supervisory level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government procurement systems and relevant legislation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic numeracy.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
