The Provincial Manager’s Office is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Assistant Director: Asset and Property Management. What You’ll Do
- Develop, implement, and monitor plans for acquiring, maintaining, and disposing of assets.
- Ensure adherence to the Asset Management Strategy within the department.
- Oversee regular asset counts and verify results against the Asset Register.
- Monitor movements of departmental assets and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct inspections to identify opportunities for asset re-utilisation.
- Prepare reports on asset conditions, including obsolete and damaged items.
- Provide guidance to line managers on asset management and policy compliance.
- Facilitate budget allocation and operational planning related to asset management.
- Manage the properties and transport services within the province.
- Ensure compliance with risk and financial management regulations within the unit.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Financial Management, or Financial Accounting at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a Supply Chain or Asset Management environment.
- Knowledge of relevant public service legislative frameworks and the Constitution of South Africa.
- Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury regulations.
- Strong project management and budget management skills.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
