The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Artisan Foreman Grade A: Fitter & Plumber to join the team at Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein, Free State. What You’ll Do

• Supervise and monitor the completion of job requests, ensuring timely responses to maintenance needs.
• Attend to physical repairs and conduct preventative maintenance on medical and operational equipment.
• Perform administrative functions related to maintenance activities.
• Lead and manage a team of staff, fostering a productive work environment.
• Inspect equipment according to established standards and maintain job cards and registers.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct fault-finding and repair tasks on various equipment, including steam reticulation and generators.

What You’ll Need

• A Senior Certificate along with a recognized trade test certificate as per SAQA standards.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Artisan, with a completed apprenticeship.
• Strong knowledge of public service legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and other departments.
• Computer literacy and the ability to read floor plans and schematic drawings.
