The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk (Production) to join their team at the EL Museum in Ku-Gompo City. What You’ll Do
- Verify and capture all salary-related transactions on the PERSAL system.
- Ensure the completeness and correctness of all required documents from the HR department and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and capture leave gratuities on the PERSAL system.
- Submit documents to internal control for compliance checking.
- Prepare BAS payments and journals as needed.
- Recall and reverse official salaries when applicable.
- Capture changes to officials’ banking details.
- Handle fuel reimbursement claims related to official salaries.
- Maintain accurate records and filing of salary-related documents.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate.
- An NQF level 6 qualification in Financial Management, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of financial functions and the ability to capture data accurately.
- Familiarity with public service financial legislation and Treasury Regulations.
- Knowledge of financial operating systems like PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Basic numeracy skills.
- A valid driving license is an added advantage.
