What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and control the release and distribution of water in compliance with relevant regulations
  • Distribute water efficiently based on approved schedules and user instructions
  • Supervise the collection and verification of water use data
  • Maintain and update water-related records, including usage logs and dam balances
  • Compile monthly reports on dam levels and evaporation returns
  • Collect water samples for quality monitoring and submit them for analysis
  • Conduct routine inspections of dams, weirs, canals, and infrastructure
  • Identify and report any faults during inspections, ensuring proper documentation
  • Implement and monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Support the performance management process by maintaining accurate records and compiling performance data

What You’ll Need

  • Relevant NQF level 4 qualification
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a water-related environment
  • Valid unexpired driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of water distribution management and governmental waterworks
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and data management
  • Understanding of policy implementation, monitoring, and evaluation principles
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
  • Willingness to travel as required
