What You’ll Do
- Inspect abattoirs to ensure compliance with Meat Safety legislation.
- Audit operations for adherence to meat safety standards.
- Perform general functions as mandated by Meat Safety legislation.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing meat safety in the province.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant National Diploma in Environmental Health, Animal Health, or Veterinary Public Health at NQF level 6 as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the field.
- A valid code B (or higher) driving license.
- Knowledge of environmental health legislation and meat safety policies.
- Skills in computer literacy, report writing, and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.

Requirements
Relevant National Diploma in Environmental Health/ Animal Health/ Veterinary Public Health at NQF level 6 as recognised by SAQA; A minimum of 1-year relevant experience; A valid code B (or higher) driving licence.Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Environmental health legislation and policies; Meat safety legislation and policies; Regulatory framework of the public service; Municipal by-laws that governs matters related to meat safety; Environmental affairs legislation; Food safety risk analysis; Food safe auditing.
