What You’ll Do
- Plan and conduct thorough inspections to ensure compliance with labour legislation, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Labour Relations Act.
- Execute independent investigations on reported violations of labour laws, preparing to represent the department in court as a State witness when necessary.
- Implement proactive inspections to monitor ongoing compliance with labour regulations.
- Conduct advocacy campaigns to educate the community on labour rights and obligations.
- Contribute to the planning, drafting, and maintenance of regional inspection strategies and reports.
- Supervise and manage team resources effectively within the sub-section.
What You’ll Need
- A National Diploma (NQF6) or Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, LLB, or BCOM Law.
- A valid driver’s license.
- At least two years of functional experience in Inspection and Enforcement Services.
- In-depth knowledge of various labour legislation, including the Skills Development Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Strong skills in facilitation, planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
