What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive animal health services to support livestock and public health.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs for communities on veterinary and public health issues.
  • Offer veterinary laboratory diagnostic services and epidemiology support.
  • Implement animal disease surveillance and control.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans and risk assessments to manage disease outbreaks.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to veterinary services and community engagement.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF level 8 BVMch/BVSc qualification recognized by the South African Veterinary Council.
  • Compulsory registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
  • A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in a veterinary setting.
  • A valid driving license (Code EB or higher) for transportation and outreach activities.
  • Competencies in computer literacy, financial management, statistical analysis, research, and communication skills.

Job Duties

Provide Animal Health services; Provide training and awareness programs (veterinary extension services) to communities with regard to Animal Health; Render a Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostic and Epidemiology Service; Render a Veterinary Public Health service; Render an animal disease surveillance service; Provide training and awareness programs (extension services) to communities with regards to VPH; Implement contingency plans and conduct risk assessments for the mitigation of outbreak of diseases; Perform all administrative and related functions.

Salary

R932 292 per annum (Level 11), (all-inclusive salary package)
