What You’ll Do

  • Provide basic nursing care in the Orthopaedic Unit under supervision.
  • Assist Professional Nurses with patient care procedures.
  • Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and safety.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient conditions.
  • Support with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care.
  • Be prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate.
  • An Enrolled Nurse Certificate.
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
  • Experience Grade 1: No prior experience required.
  • Experience Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration.
  • Experience Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Service policies and regulations.
  • Good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a clinical setting.
