About the Role
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is seeking a dedicated Sport Promotion Officer in Springbok, located in the Namakwa District. What You’ll Do
- Promote and coordinate the development of local sport clubs and community sports structures.
- Facilitate the establishment and registration of sports clubs, ensuring compliance with governance and federation requirements.
- Implement sport development programmes and organize leagues, tournaments, and community initiatives.
- Create an environment conducive for identifying and nurturing sporting talent.
- Collaborate with municipalities, sport federations, and community organizations for integrated planning and execution of sport programmes.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data related to sport participation and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare performance reports and monitor programme outcomes to support informed decision-making.
- Provide administrative and technical support regarding sport facilities, infrastructure, and equipment management.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate.
- A valid driver’s license.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in sports management or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Sport Management is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient organizational planning and report writing abilities.
- Computer literacy and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Project management experience.
