What You’ll Do

  • Provide social work services to vulnerable individuals, groups, and families.
  • Address issues that may lead to social instability through proactive intervention.
  • Support and mentor social auxiliary workers and volunteers in their roles.
  • Stay updated on developments in social work and social welfare practices.
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks related to your duties.
  • Participate in mentoring and coaching of lower-grade social workers to enhance service delivery.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (NQF Level 7) recognised by SAQA.
  • Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  • A valid driver’s license for mobility in the district.

Requirements

Grade 12 plus an appropriate Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work NQF Level 7) as recognized by SAQA.

Current Registration with the SACSSP.

A valid driver’s License.

Job Duties

Render a social work service with regard to the care, support, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through the relevant programmes.

Attend to any other matters that could result in, or stem from social instability in any form.

Support Social auxiliary workers and volunteers.

Keep up to date with new developments in the social work and social welfare fields.

Perform all the administrative functions required of the job.

It will be expected from the Social Workers Grade 4 to mentor and coach the Social Workers Grade 1 to enable them to render an effective and efficient social work service.

Salary

R338 208 per annum, (A basic salary)
