What You’ll Do

  • Provide social work services focused on the care, support, and protection of vulnerable individuals and communities.
  • Engage in casework, group work, and community outreach initiatives to address social issues.
  • Supervise and support social auxiliary workers to ensure their continuous professional development.
  • Stay updated on developments and best practices in the social work field to enhance service delivery.
  • Perform administrative functions related to the role, including report writing and maintaining client records.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor of Social Work degree, enabling registration as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
  • Valid registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker.
  • A valid Code B driving licence.
  • For Grade 1: No prior experience required; for higher grades, relevant experience in social work is necessary (10+ years for Grade 2, 20+ years for Grade 3, and 30+ years for Grade 4).
  • Knowledge of social work theory, relevant legislation, and human behaviour, along with strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
