What You’ll Do

• Develop, implement, and maintain child protection policies to ensure compliance with current legislation.
• Monitor and review policies and procedures, proposing amendments as necessary.
• Facilitate the funding and support of national bodies that provide services to vulnerable children.
• Evaluate the implementation of community-based prevention and early intervention services.
• Conduct research and stay updated with new developments in social work and related fields.
• Attend meetings with stakeholders to discuss relevant issues and updates in child protection.
• Perform administrative functions required to support the unit’s objectives.

What You’ll Need

• A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• A minimum of eight years’ appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
• Strong knowledge of child care and protection legislation and policies.
• Excellent programme development and project management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to travel as required.
