What You’ll Do
- Develop, implement, and maintain child protection policies to ensure compliance with current legislation.
- Monitor and review policies and procedures, proposing amendments as necessary.
- Facilitate the funding and support of national bodies that provide services to vulnerable children.
- Evaluate the implementation of community-based prevention and early intervention services.
- Conduct research and stay updated with new developments in social work and related fields.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders to discuss relevant issues and updates in child protection.
- Perform administrative functions required to support the unit’s objectives.
What You’ll Need
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
- A minimum of eight years’ appropriate experience in social work post-registration.
- Strong knowledge of child care and protection legislation and policies.
- Excellent programme development and project management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to travel as required.
