What You’ll Do

• Study case dockets and conduct thorough legal research to inform decisions on criminal proceedings.
• Advise law enforcement on the investigation and prosecution of serious and complex organized crime cases.
• Draft charge sheets and other court documents, representing the State in various legal proceedings.
• Lead court presentations, including examining witnesses and arguing appeals.
• Conduct prosecutions on behalf of the State, ensuring fair and just legal processes are followed.
• Stay updated with legal developments and contribute to the overall integrity of the legal system.

What You’ll Need

• An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of post-qualification legal experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
• Proven competency in independent, professional, and accountable legal practice.
• Right of appearance as outlined in section 25(2) of the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
• Knowledge of the Prevention of Organized Crime Act (POCA) and experience in litigation.
• Strong advocacy skills, coupled with well-developed legal research and drafting abilities.
• Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
