What You’ll Do
- Process various financial transactions using BAS, PERSAL, and LOGIS systems
- Verify and authorize BAS and PERSAL advice
- Maintain and analyze the budget for financial accountability
- Reconcile key accounts and manage travel agency accounts
- Compile financial reports, including accruals and payables
- Facilitate the compilation of Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) inputs
- Manage petty cash and ensure accurate reporting and replenishment
- Identify and facilitate the correction of misallocations and shifting of funds
- Report on financial performance, including invoices paid within 30 days
What You’ll Need
- Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting, Public Finance, or Financial Management (NQF Level 6)
- At least 2 years of experience in a financial management environment
- A valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Treasury Regulations, the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA), and relevant financial systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS)
- Strong supervision skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

Requirements
Minimum requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting / Public Finance / Financial Management (NQF Level 6) or related equivalent qualification.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial management environment.
A valid driver’s license Job related knowledge: Treasury or Financial Regulations or the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA).
PERSAL, Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Logistical Information System (LOGIS).
Know Treasury Regulations and PFMA.
Knowledge of Public Service Regulations.
Job-related skills: Supervision.
Communication (verbal and written).
Job Duties
Process BAS, PERSAL and LOGIS transactions: Check and verify BAS and PERSAL advice.Authorise transactions on BAS, PERSAL and LOGIS.
Maintain budget.
Analyse and manage travel agency account.
Ascertain invoices received.
Reconcile/analyse key accounts.
Accumulate synopsis report (age analysis).
Facilitate and compile financial reports.
Compile and submit inputs and portfolio of evidence (POEs) on financial reports (accruals and payables reports).
Report on invoices paid within 30 days.
Facilitate compilation of Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE), Adjusted Estimates of National Expenditure (AENE) inputs.
Facilitate misallocations.
Perform shifting of funds.
Analyse expenditure trends.
Manage petty cash.
Check and sign petty cash replenishment and balance cash on hand.
Facilitate petty cash count and reporting.
Request for petty cash facilities and increase.
