What You’ll Do
- Manage and supervise a team of Provincial Inspectors, providing guidance and support.
- Enforce road traffic and public passenger transport legislation.
- Examine driver’s licenses and monitor compliance at testing centres and vehicle stations.
- Conduct visible traffic control and policing to promote crime prevention activities.
- Assess road conditions and report findings for necessary actions.
- Perform administrative tasks related to the enforcement of road regulations.
- Mentor and coach newly appointed inspectors to uphold departmental standards.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate and a Basic Traffic Officer’s Diploma.
- Registration as a Traffic Officer.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience as a Provincial Inspector.
- A valid driving license (minimum code B).
- A clean criminal record.
- Knowledge of road traffic and public transport legislation, policies, and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in at least two provincial languages.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
