What You’ll Do

• Investigate and validate restitution claims to ensure their authenticity
• Gather oral and documentary evidence to support claims
• Compile comprehensive research reports and prepare claims for gazetting
• Verify beneficiaries of lodged claims and compile family trees
• Negotiate settlements and conduct options discussions with claimants
• Facilitate the resolution of claims and prepare terms of reference for evaluations
• Compile spreadsheets for property valuations and conduct deeds research
• Engage with stakeholders and manage inquiries regarding land claims
• Respond to high-level enquiries from government officials and the public

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Agriculture, Development Studies, Social Science, Law, or a related field
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a land reform environment
• A valid driver’s license
• Strong understanding of development management and strategic management principles
• Familiarity with research methods and community facilitation techniques
• Excellent project management, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to draft terms of reference and manage consultants
• Proficiency in report writing and computer literacy
• Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as needed
