About the Role
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Senior Practitioner: Employee Relations, located in the vibrant city of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of grievances and complaints from employees in KwaZulu-Natal
- Draft charges related to misconduct cases and oversee their finalization
- Represent the department in disputes at the General Public Service Sectoral Bargaining Council (GPSSBC) and the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote fair labour practices
- Provide expert advice on employee relations matters to enhance workplace harmony
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Human Resources Management, Public Management, or Employee Relations at NQF level 6, recognized by SAQA
- A minimum of two years’ functional experience in an Employment Relations Management environment
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Public Service Act (PSA), and Employment Equity Act (EEA)
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous
- Skills in negotiation, problem-solving, and effective communication
