The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently seeking dedicated Security Officers across various locations, including Moloto, Mankwe, Potchefstroom, Paarl, Atteridgeville, Chatsworth, Benoni, Arcadia, Rietondale, Bhisho, Bishop Lavis, Graaff-Reinet, Mthatha, Oudtshoorn, Tshwane, and Ulundi. What You’ll Do
- Execute access control measures in accordance with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
- Identify and register employees, visitors, and contractors at security access points.
- Authorize entry and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Issue and manage admission control cards for visitors.
- Patrol buildings and secured areas to monitor safety and security.
- Conduct inspections of suppliers and materials entering the premises.
- Report any deficiencies or security issues to senior personnel.
- Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment and facilities.
What You’ll Need
- Proven competency in the core functions of a security role.
- Proficiency in English and one other official language.
- South African citizenship with documentary proof.
- A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV level 2 certificate or equivalent.
- Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and a Grade C security certificate.
- Willingness to undergo firearm competency training and maintain firearm proficiency.
- Ability to work shifts and extended hours.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
