What You’ll Do
- Implement access control measures according to the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
- Conduct positive identification checks for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Register and issue admission control cards to visitors, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Patrol buildings and fenced areas, guarding vehicles and equipment from security threats.
- Inspect and verify suppliers and their goods before entry to maintain a secure environment.
- Report any security deficiencies or irregularities to senior security personnel.
- Ensure that all security equipment is functional and address issues as they arise.
What You’ll Need
- Competency in the core functions of security operations.
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.
- A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV level 2 certificate.
- Valid Registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- At least a Grade C security certificate or higher.
- Willingness to undergo firearm competency training and maintain certification.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours as required.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and emergency protocols.
