What You’ll Do
- Execute access control as per the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
- Conduct positive identification checks for employees, visitors, and contractors at security access points.
- Maintain a visitor’s register and issue admission control cards to visitors.
- Patrol buildings and fenced-off areas to ensure security.
- Monitor supplier articles and objects to prevent threats to safety.
- Report any deficiencies or security issues to senior personnel.
- Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and prescribed security measures.
What You’ll Need
- Proven competency in the core functions of the post.
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.
- Citizenship of South Africa with documentary proof.
- A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV level 2 certificate (NQF level 2).
- Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and a Grade C security certificate or higher.
- No declaration of unfitness to possess a firearm; willingness to undergo firearm competency training.
- Relevant courses in security will be advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is a plus.
- Availability to work shifts and extended hours.
