What You’ll Do

  • Perform access control to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not enter the premises.
  • Carry out thorough lock-up procedures for all offices and access points.
  • Operate and monitor control room security equipment effectively.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the building and premises to identify safety hazards.
  • Apply emergency procedures in critical situations, such as bomb scares or riots, and alert relevant emergency services.
  • Provide receptionist services and issue visitor stickers as required.
  • Maintain an occurrence register and report all incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to gather feedback on reported incidents for ongoing improvement.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum qualification of NQF Level 3.
  • A valid Private Security Industry Regulations Act (PSIRA) Certificate.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures and security measures.
  • Understanding of security protocols and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to operate CCTV and other security systems.
  • Capability to work long hours voluntarily and under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on conflict management.
  • A proactive approach to gathering and analyzing information.

Requirements

NQF level 3.

Private Security Industry Regulations Act (PSIRA) Certificate.

No experience required.

Knowledge of access control procedures.

Knowledge of measures for the control and movement of equipment and stores.

Knowledge of prescribed security procedures (e.

g.

, MISS, NISA, Protection of Information Act, etc.

) and the authority of security officers under these documents.

Knowledge of the relevant emergency procedures and security processes.

Departmental & Public Services prescripts.

CCTV operation.

Ability to work long hours voluntarily.

Ability to gather and analyse information.

Ability to lead multidisciplinary team.

Ability to organise and plan under pressure.

Good interpersonal relations skills.

Conflict management and resolution.

Responsibility and loyalty.

Job Duties

Perform access control.

Ensure that unauthorised person and dangerous objects do not enter the building/premises.

Perform proper lock up for all offices and access points.

Operate and monitor control room security equipment.

Monitor access control movements screen.

Ensure safety in the building and premises.

Undertake building/premises patrols to identify and check: all the passages and toilets before locking the main glass door and that no official is locked inside the office.

Fire hazards exposed electrical contacts and other fire hazards emanating from instance chemicals.

Apply emergency procedures (in situation like bomb scares, riots etc.

) and alert the emergency service and departmental management.

Provide receptionist services.

Provide visitor stickers when entering and moving around the department.

Ensure that the occurrence register and other register are kept up to date i.

e.

all incidents are recorded and brought to the attention of the supervisor.

Obtain feedback from supervisors on incidents reported.

Salary

R170 226 annum
