What You’ll Do
- Enforce access control as per the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
- Verify identification of employees, visitors, and contractors at the security access points.
- Register and electronically search individuals entering the premises.
- Authorize entry after confirming compliance with legislative requirements and escorting visitors as needed.
- Maintain a visitor’s register and issue admission control cards.
- Conduct patrols of buildings and fenced-off areas for enhanced security.
- Inspect deliveries and materials for security compliance before entry.
- Report any security issues or equipment deficiencies to senior personnel.
What You’ll Need
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
- Citizenship of the Republic of South Africa with necessary documentation.
- Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV Level 2 certificate (NQF Level 2).
- Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and at least a Grade C security certificate.
- Willingness to undergo firearm competency training.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is an advantage.
- Availability to work shifts and extended hours.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and security measures.
