What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement scientific methodologies, policies, and procedures.
• Perform technical scientific functions requiring interpretation within established frameworks.
• Identify gaps and develop appropriate interventions to enhance scientific practices.
• Participate in research activities, including field surveys and data collection.
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate scientific equipment.
• Provide technical support, advice, and data management to stakeholders.
• Promote public awareness of scientific activities and findings.
• Mentor and train candidate research technicians to ensure skill development.
• Prepare technical reports and compile proposals based on research findings.
• Engage with relevant bodies on technology-related matters and improve expertise through continuous development.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Biological Sciences or a relevant qualification.
• Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Certificated Natural Scientist.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical (scientific) experience.
• Strong knowledge of scientific methodologies, research and development, and program management.
• Proficiency in computer-aided scientific applications and technical report writing.
• Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage people and foster a high-performance culture.
