What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and verify all aspects of record management in schools.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Archives Policy regarding various registers.
  • Develop financial administration processes and practices in line with departmental norms.
  • Report electronically and in writing on school administration and financial management.
  • Assist with the management of school budgets and financial records, including cash flow and procurement.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations on financial management practices within schools.
  • Support the development of corrective actions to enhance financial administration.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) and a three-year relevant qualification in finance.
  • A valid driver’s license (excluding code A/A1).
  • At least 2 years relevant administrative experience, preferably in finance and records management.
  • Strong knowledge of departmental policies, the Archives and Records Service Act, and Public Financial Management processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant financial systems, such as Pastel, and knowledge of school administrative processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and analytical skills, with a focus on problem-solving and financial management.
