What You’ll Do

  • Conduct compliance assessments to ensure adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of Environmental Programmes projects.
  • Investigate major incidents and recommend necessary OHS interventions.
  • Draft incident reports and collaborate with operations on implementing safety recommendations.
  • Identify and address compliance shortcomings related to occupational health and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards and best management practices.
  • Facilitate capacity building sessions on occupational health & safety for provincial projects.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and provide relevant induction training for staff.
  • Manage the COIDA System and administrative procedures related to occupational health and safety.

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Public Service Act and Health and Safety Act.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and establishing management systems.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, planning, and organizing.
  • Advanced project management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Registration with SACPCMP and experience with ISO 45001 is an advantage.
