The Department of Correctional Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Regional Head: Facilities in the vibrant Eastern Cape region. This critical role involves coordinating the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that enhance the operational effectiveness of facilities within the correctional system. What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and implement policies and procedures for facility management.
• Monitor the effectiveness of operational strategies and maintenance standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Oversee the training and equipping of maintenance teams.
• Manage human resources, finances, and asset performance.
• Conduct quality assessments of facilities to ensure proper maintenance.
• Continuously update the building and maintenance programme in line with departmental strategies.

What You’ll Need

• An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Building Science or equivalent, as recognized by SAQA.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government.
• A minimum of five years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role within a similar environment.
• Registration with the relevant professional council in South Africa is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and security clearance.
• Strong knowledge of the South African Criminal Justice System and correctional services architecture.
• Proficient in computer applications and performance management.
