What You’ll Do

• Manage, supervise, and conduct prosecutions in the Regional and District Courts in accordance with legislation and NPA policy directives.
• Screen dockets and make critical prosecutorial decisions while guiding investigations.
• Ensure trial readiness and prepare cases for court, including complex matters such as bail applications and trials.
• Consult with victims, witnesses, and other stakeholders, applying a victim-centered approach to your work.
• Draft and review legal documents, including charge sheets and plea agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Promote court productivity through effective case flow management and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor and manage backlog cases and various other prescribed matters, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Manage and mentor fellow prosecutors, providing guidance and assistance in their professional development.

What You’ll Need

• An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
• At least six years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Demonstrated competency in acting independently and professionally while maintaining accountability.
• Strong management skills with the ability to supervise and mentor other prosecutors.
• Proficiency in prosecuting complex common law and statutory offenses in Regional and District Courts.
• Excellent drafting skills for complex legal documents and charge sheets.
