What You’ll Do

  • Provide holistic specialized psychiatric nursing care in accordance with established standards and legal frameworks.
  • Utilize human, financial, and physical resources effectively to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient and staff documentation, ensuring compliance with appropriate guidelines.
  • Assist in developing and implementing nursing quality improvement plans, policies, and standard operating procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science (R212) or a postgraduate diploma in Mental Health Nursing (R635).
  • For Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years of relevant nursing experience after SANC registration.
  • For Grade 2: At least 14 years of relevant nursing experience, with a minimum of 10 years post-basic qualification experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
